Hello! I’m Linda Roberts, a proud Guyanese teacher living in the beautiful Essequibo region, specifically near the serene Capoey Lake. My passion for education goes hand-in-hand with my love for our rich culture and vibrant community. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been inspired by the diversity of our people and the warmth that connects us all. Whether it’s through sharing stories or teaching my students about our history, I strive to foster a sense of pride in our unique Guyanese identity.
Being from Essequibo means I’m never far from the lush landscapes and the sweet aroma of traditional dishes like roti and curry, which always remind me of home. I believe that enjoying these delicacies is not just about the food; it’s about gathering with family and friends to celebrate our heritage. As we navigate the challenges and opportunities in our beautiful country, I find joy in connecting with the diaspora and sharing our experiences, whether it’s through community events or social media conversations. Like many Guyanese, I feel a profound pride in representing our nation on the global stage.
In addition to teaching, I am an advocate for our local culture and tourism.
