Greetings! My name is Ryan Richards, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home, specifically from 69 Cave Street Dageraad in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has shaped who I am today. From the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the tranquility of the Pomeroon River, I've always found inspiration in the natural beauty and rich culture of my homeland.
As a resident deeply connected to my roots, I love sharing the flavors of Guyana with the world. Whether it’s a plate of pepperpot or a sweet slice of black cake, our culinary traditions tell stories of resilience and community. I'm passionate about preserving our culture and ensuring that the unique heritage of our people continues to thrive, even in the diaspora. It’s vital that we recognize our history and work together to protect our communities from gentrification, as echoed by many of my fellow Guyanese.
Through my experiences, I have fostered connections with both local and global communities. I believe in the power of sharing our stories and experiences—whether it’s discussing the correct pronunciation of Kai-chore or reminiscing about the serenity found in the Upper Pom River. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
