Hello! My name is Teateal Persaud, and I’m proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, I work as a labourer, embracing the rich traditions and vibrant culture that our community has to offer. Living in this beautiful region allows me the opportunity to connect deeply with nature and my roots, whether it's enjoying the sweet taste of mangoes from Lower Pomeroon or savoring a comforting bowl of duck curry, a dish that reminds me of family gatherings and the warmth of home.
There's nothing quite like the feeling of the lush green landscapes that stretch around us, or the sound of laughter echoing through our neighborhoods. I often find myself reminiscing about childhood memories spent at Mango Landing in Akawini, where the rivers meet the sky. It's these experiences that shape my identity as a Guyanese, a connection that I cherish deeply, even from afar.
