Greetings! My name is Charles France, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. As a dedicated teacher, I strive to inspire my students by sharing the rich history and culture of our beloved nation. Growing up among the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, I have always been surrounded by the beauty of our natural resources, including the iconic kai-chore and essequi-bo, which remind me daily of the treasures Guyana holds.
Guyana is often underestimated, yet it is a land brimming with diversity, from our unique dialects to our delicious cuisine, like pepperpot and metemgee. I take pride in sharing our culinary delights and cultural practices with my students and those in the diaspora, reminding us all that our roots run deep, whether in the heart of Guyana or scattered across the globe. It's important for us to celebrate our identity and promote unity within our community, as seen in events where we gather to enjoy song and dance, connecting to our heritage and one another.
