Hello! My name is Collis Richards, and I proudly call Pom River Myrie Island in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a Maracman, I’ve dedicated my life to preserving and sharing the vibrant traditions and cultural heritage of our Amerindian ancestors. Whether it's the rhythmic beats of the maracas or the stories passed down through generations, I strive to connect people with our rich history while fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, I have always found inspiration in our local foods, from fresh fish to the sweetness of ripe mangoes and cassava bread. My passion for authentic Guyanese cuisine runs deep, and I love to share recipes that remind us of home—each dish telling a story of family and togetherness. I am also committed to raising awareness about our unique environment and the need for sustainable practices to protect it for future generations.
