Hello! Iām Nimrod Wilson, a proud Guyanese sawman hailing from Karawab in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, I developed a deep appreciation for the natural resources that our beautiful country offers. Working as a sawman, I engage in the age-old craft of timber production, always ensuring respect for our environment while contributing to the local economy. Nothing beats the satisfaction of seeing a tree transformed into something useful, whether it's furniture or building material.
Guyana is a melting pot of cultures, and I'm a firm believer that our diversity makes us unique. From the flavorful delights of pepperpot and roti to the warmth of our festivals like Mashramani, every aspect of our culture tells a story. I often reminisce about family gatherings filled with laughter, good food, and the rhythmic sounds of our folk music. Even as I connect with the diaspora, sharing tales about our vibrant communities, I always carry a piece of home in my heart. I get a kick out of hearing my friends mispronounce some of our local place names, just like I did when I was younger until my mom set me straight!
