Hello! My name is Rumeina Rahim, and I’m proud to call Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a dedicated teacher, I strive to inspire the next generation while sharing the rich culture and heritage of our beloved land. From the lush mangroves to the vibrant markets filled with fresh produce like cassava and plantains, I enjoy incorporating local flavors and traditions into my lessons, ensuring that students understand the significance of our diverse community.
Living in a country that is blessed with natural beauty and a wealth of cultural influences, I often reflect on our unique history. Whether it's sharing stories about the Lower Pom River or discussing the impact of our diverse religions and ethnicities, I believe it’s essential to foster a sense of pride among my students. As we navigate the challenges of modernity, I encourage them to appreciate our heritage, just as those in the diaspora cherish memories of home.
Outside of the classroom, I love connecting with fellow Guyanese, whether through cooking traditional dishes like pepperpot or discussing the latest happenings in our capital.
